What If Your Patterns Aren't Problems - They're the Point?
There's a question I hear constantly from the women I work with.
Why does this keep happening to me?
Same relationship dynamic, different person. Same feeling of being overlooked. Same cycle of giving everything and ending up empty. And underneath that question is always another one, something they are afraid to say out loud: what is wrong with me?
Nothing is wrong with you.
What if the pattern is actually the puzzle? What if it's a sign that your soul is working?
What I Believe About Soul Contracts
Before you came into this lifetime, your soul made agreements.
Not in a way that was done to you. In a way that you chose.
A soul contract is your mission. A set of wounds you agreed to experience and work through in this lifetime because your soul needs to progress. Some of it is carried over from past lives, from experiences that didn't get resolved, from lessons that didn't quite land. And so here you are again, in a new body, in a new set of circumstances, with the same core wound showing up in different clothing.
That's why it feels old. That's why certain triggers feel disproportionately big. That's why some pain feels like it goes deeper than this lifetime could account for.
Because it does.
The Pattern Is the Clue
When something keeps showing up in your life, the same dynamic, the same wound, the same theme wearing different faces, that's not bad luck. That's your contract asking for your attention.
Your soul will keep recreating the conditions for that wound to surface until you do something with it. Until you see it, feel it, work through it. And when you do? It shifts. Something new opens up. The pattern stops needing to repeat because it finally got what it came for.
This reframe changed everything for me personally. And I've watched it change things for the women I work with too. Not because it erases what happened, but because it gives it context. It takes the experience out of the category of things that happened to me and puts it into the category of things my soul agreed to so I could grow.
That is a very different relationship to your own story.
You Chose Your People
Here's the part I find most fascinating. And honestly, the most comforting.
The people closest to you? Your family, your oldest friends, the relationships that have shaped you most? They are your pod. A group of souls that has been traveling together across lifetimes, showing up in different roles, helping each other fulfill their contracts.
Your brother might have been your uncle in a past life. Your mother might have been your teacher. And before this lifetime, your pod sat together and figured out who was going to play who. How each person could help the others progress on their soul's mission.
Sometimes that means someone agrees to be the difficult one. The one who wounds you. The one who creates the exact conditions your soul needs in order to grow.
I think about this a lot when it comes to parents. The child chooses their parent based on their soul contract, because that child's soul knows those parents will create the exact circumstances needed for their mission. That doesn't mean the childhood was easy. It doesn't erase real pain or real harm. But it offers a different frame. One where you were not powerless, even before you arrived.
A Story I Keep Coming Back To
One of my clients gave me permission to share this.
When I did her reading, I went into her past life and I saw her on the ground, having been thrown from a horse. She couldn't move.
I described what I was seeing and she went quiet.
She told me she had never known why she had chronic back pain her entire life. Unexplained, unresolved, a mystery to every practitioner she had ever seen. And she had always had a fear of horses with no logical reason for it. Nothing in this lifetime had ever happened to explain it.
That past life was a piece of her puzzle. And it connected directly to what she was here to fulfill in this one.
That is what soul contracts look like in practice. They show up as fears that feel irrational. As pain that has no clear origin. As patterns that feel impossibly old.
What Are the Themes of Your Life?
If you want a starting point for understanding your own contract, start here.
What keeps showing up? Not the specific events. The themes underneath them. Feeling unseen. Not being chosen. Carrying too much. Proving your worth. Needing to be needed.
You are the lead actor in this lifetime. The themes that keep reappearing in your story are not random. They are the clues your soul left for you.
What is yours asking you to look at?
How I Work With This
When I work with clients, accessing past lives through the Akashic records is one of the most powerful ways I help someone understand their soul contract. What they came here to fulfill, what has been carried forward, and what is ready to shift.
I want to go deeper on the Akashic records because I think there is a lot of mystery and misunderstanding around what they actually are and what a reading looks like in practice. I am writing a full post about it and it goes live Monday. If this resonated with you, that one will take it further.
If this landed for you and you want to know what your soul came here to do, SoulCode is a natal and soul chart reading that connects the dots between your chart, your patterns, and your mission in this lifetime. Click Here to Grab Soulcode
